Hiking and MTB holidays around Bozen
City and mountains - how do they fit together? In South Tyrol, as perfectly as Speck and Schüttelbrot! Thanks to the privileged location of our “Landl,” an active, hiking or MTB holiday in Bozen takes you from the city to the surrounding countryside. Where the streets end, forests and meadows begin, inviting you to embrace nature and movement. Cruise effortlessly across the Rittner Sonnenplateau with an e-bike, cool your feet in the lake after a scenic stroll, or finally conquer the peaks of the Dolomites? Everything is possible - often with just a short journey! Even more surprises await you in Bozen in winter.

People talk about them, write about them, and, most of all, rave about them: the world-famous Dolomites. How lucky that your city and hiking holiday in Bozen provides the perfect opportunity for an excursion to the “most beautiful mountains in the world.” South Tyrol’s capital sits right at the gateway to the Dolomites, which you can reach in less than an hour by car. So if you’ve always dreamed of strolling across the Seiser Alm, getting closer to the peaks of the Drei Zinnen, or witnessing the breathtaking Alpine glow in person, your stay with us is the chance to make it happen.

Leisurely stroll or summit conquest? A hiking holiday in Bozen is as diverse as the city itself. Whether you prefer a walk along sunny promenades, a jog by the Talfer River, a magical forest hike in Jenesien and Kohlern, or a cable car ride up to Bozen’s local mountain, Ritten - there are trails and destinations for every season and every desire. The Ritten cable car station is just a ten-minute walk away, and our Activity Board provides daily tips for the most beautiful routes.

Bike lovers will find just as many route options, whether you prefer speeding along on a road bike, venturing into nature on an MTB, or discovering Bozen from the saddle of one of our rental city bikes. The nearby destinations of Kohlern, Jenesien, and the local mountain Ritten offer an easy and scenic alternative to a city tour for both cyclists and hikers alike.
Good to know: in addition to our modern city bikes, available for free rental, we also provide a secure depot for your own bicycle.

When the rooftops of the old town shimmer under the summer sun, it’s time to cool off. A refreshing “gelato” and a dip in the water await you, not only at the city’s outdoor pool but also in the nearby swimming lakes - most notably Lake Kaltern and the Montiggler Lakes. The former is actually one of the warmest (and most beautiful!) swimming lakes in the Alps. If you’d rather swap sunbathing for the fairway, the surrounding golf clubs offer exciting courses with stunning views, such as in Eppan or Petersberg in Deutschnofen.
